We have been working on historical preservation projects in Sawara, Chiba since 1996. We understand that a townscape is not only about visible surfaces, but also about the “space between” that acts as a vehicle for the interaction between public and private, nature and buildings. We restored and designed an under-eaves space and a courtyard to create depth in the town facade that induces an organic relationship between individuals and the town. We understand historical preservation projects as a bridge between the past and the future. Therefore, we did not seek only to reconstruct historical forms, but also to create new values and aesthetics in our everyday life.
EUの中心の町、ブリュッセルのギャラリー Platform102で、郡裕美がサイトスペシフィックな空間アート作品をつくりました！天窓を手がかりに、撚りのかかっていない羊毛の原糸を使って、窓が紡ぎだす空間を現しました。「windowspace」は、見る人の想像力を縦糸に、光や影、風や音、空の風景や町の景色が絡み合って編み出されます。ふわふわの羊毛が作る境界線は柔らかく曖昧で、鑑賞者が移動するたびに空間の形が変わり、時には風景に溶けて空間が消えてなくなったようにも感じられます。ギャラリーを訪れた人々は、作品の中を歩き回りながら、それぞれの「windowspace」を発見し、そこで時間を過ごしながら作品を楽しんでいただきました。写真を添付します。ご感想などお聞かせ願えれば幸いです

Opening: March 15th, 2015
I just realized a new site specific installation at the Platform 102 gallery located in the center of Brussels. The space is on the top floor which has a couple of skylight windows. I installed untwisted raw wool yarn that serves to indicate the space which can potentially be created by the windows. As the viewer moves, the yarn comes to form various boundaries – and “window_space ” are woven out. Sometimes, the yarn melts into the landscape and the space disappears. The light, the air, the sound and the landscape that come through from the window are constantly changing and the “window_space ” is accordingly generated through viewer’s imagination.
３ 月３日（火）11:30AM〜「心に響く光」という題でレクチャーをしました。光をテーマにした様々なアート作品を紹介しながら、心に語りかける光について 話しました。ライティング・フェア2015 ＠Lighting Stage 東京ビッグサイトにて。CPD認定セミナーです！会場には、世界から集まった様々な光の技術、情報が集まりました！下の写真は、銀座エ ルメスで私が作った光のインスタレーション作品“ Panta Rei”です。
